(Above image) This artefact to me looks more like a mechanical lever like on a railroad. (See below image)

What looks like a very small "artillery cannon on Mars" in Gale crater. The Metro have coined this artefact a "Mars Rocket Launcher" - lol.
Is this a "Mars alien weapon" or could be a water pump conjoined to a possible underground well.
I actually think it may be a rail-road lever connected to the "Mars Traffic Light" that I found recently not far from this area at all.

Daily Mail Story

There have been rocks that look like traffic lights, and even a perfectly rounded stone discovered on the surface of Mars.
But the "latest bizarre formation appears to show a rock in the shape of a cannon".
Nasa has been beaming photos from the red planet since its Curiosity rover landed in August 2012, and this latest discovery was spotted by amateur astronomer "Joe White, 45, from Bristol".

The 45-year-old space video journalist said he noticed a chuck of rock in the corner of the footage while scanning Nasa's official images.
He said: 'I think it looks like a gun - as in an artillery piece - but it's way too small for that really.'

Joe White ArtAlienTV - My Prognoses

This artefact is very small. Only  about 12 inches tall. Hard to tell with any assurance. It could be well over 2 feet?
It seems to have a handle on the pole or barrel  near the top but has what look like feet or stabilizer legs at the base of the object.

The source image itself is poor quality mainly due to heat distortion that the 2 megapixel Mastcam struggles with on most days in Gale Crater. Also the artefact is small and quite far away only adding to the unclarity of the photo.

This is not far from the "Mars Traffic Light" of recent fame around the world, back only a couple of weeks ago that NASA said was down to concretion. But concretion on what? A blatant artefact, I and many other researchers think.
What will NASA say this one is I wonder - lol.
