question-circle Building Complex Inside Archimedes Crater

This view of a terraced edge inside Archimedes Crater was taken by the Apollo 15 Panoramic Camera. It has what appears to be a complex of intelligent structures, some resembling ancient Greek monuments similar to the Acropolis of Athens. The image below is from AS15-P-9401 and was processed from the raw tif tiles (tile 2).

Great find! Todd. I hope we're thinking along the same lines. I do have a feeling we may be looking at the blank spot in our ancient history. What a great name for this particular crater....hmmmmm

Yes, it looks like we used to be able to mingle amongst the solar system at one time, but for whatever reason, we're now isolated.

I agree 100%! I There are so many stories of flying machines, fire from the sky, and talk of giants. I would like to talk more about this. Maybe when Will gets done setting up the new system, we all can converse about this subject. This has been my theory all along, and the more I see, the more I feel we're right. :woohoo:

Giovanni Battista Riccioli named it. Most names on the Moon are by him.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck by the YouTube channel and to all of our admins and forum users here on the channel.   They really have kept the website current while I have been busy taking care of things in my personal life.   I promised that the next video would be a long one and have a LOT to look at.  You can get lost in these Gigapans and I really hope that you do!  I spent a lot of time stitching these together and making sure that they were the best quality that I could get them.  SOL 1448 really has been a goldmine for anomaly hunters and those people who are just hobbiest.  I really hope you enjoy this one and expect much more to come from the latest batches of images!
