check Apollo 11: Daedalus Anomaly (AS11-44-6611)

6 years 5 days ago #12465 by Todd
This is, in my opinion, Apollo 11's clearest 70mm Hasselblad photograph of the crater known as Daedalus, AS11-44-6611. Daedalus is a crater close to the center of the Moon, located on the far side. It has a terraced, inner rim and a cluster of mounds or peaks inside on the crater floor. The section of mound that faces two smaller craters appears to have been hollowed out in relief by some force with unusual formations inside. The edge has a series of straight cuts in sort of a zig-zag formation, as if it had been excavated and the objects within the mound, let's just say I'd like a closer look at them. The full size image was processed from the NASA/JSC/Arizona State University raw tif scan, enlarged enhancement below. The terracing and the surrounding features have a number of interesting aspects to them as well, but that hollowed mound and its contents I find especially curious.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck by the YouTube channel and to all of our admins and forum users here on the channel.   They really have kept the website current while I have been busy taking care of things in my personal life.   I promised that the next video would be a long one and have a LOT to look at.  You can get lost in these Gigapans and I really hope that you do!  I spent a lot of time stitching these together and making sure that they were the best quality that I could get them.  SOL 1448 really has been a goldmine for anomaly hunters and those people who are just hobbiest.  I really hope you enjoy this one and expect much more to come from the latest batches of images!
