As much as we’d love every anomaly to be as crystal-clear as the nose on your face, sometimes it takes a bit of study, a refocusing of not only the eyes but of the biases that inform what we see. Images we call “blurry” can nonetheless reveal the tell-tale properties of being non-fractal, a product not formed by natural processes.
Other times we see images like “Curious Compound” in this edition that require us to ignore the surrounding geology, only to realize that structures and buildings are hiding in plain sight.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but often the intellectually-lazy will be the first to say “They’re rocks!”, today’s variation on the old “swamp grass/weather balloon” proclamations. And who knows. Maybe that’s all they are. You be the judge.
