In collaboration with Researcher Emeritus Martine Grainey, MarsX3D is proud to offer a series of 3D realizations representing some of Ms. Grainey’s most compelling finds. These are her original renditions. Nothing has been changed, altered or added in any way other than to apply the process of planar extrapolation, rendering the image in X3D stereo.
Tucked away on a ledge in this Curiosity 540 image lies something that gives the impression of a gun or some type of advanced ordnance. It’s easy for the mind to leap to conclusions in an attempt to assign meaning to something unknown. But the fact remains that many items looking like guns, missiles, swords and the like have been found on Mars. Given the presumed context of war leading up to a global cataclysm, it is easy to assume that broken, corroded weaponry might be found among the drifting sand dunes.
The lines and angles certainly don’t seem natural. And what looks like a barrel on top even appears to have a racking mechanism similar to our own automatic hand guns here on earth.
Regardless of its actual identity, this particular anomaly seems to be more than “just a rock”, instead reflecting intelligent, purposeful design.

“How do I viewX3D?” Simple. While viewing the two images from a comfortable distance, very gently cross your eyes (no eye-strain) until you perceive three images, all the same width. The one in the center is in 3D. Relax into it. Once you learn how to re-focus your eyes in this manner, you will never forget it.
