“DEVICE 4958a” in X3D Stereo
Opportunity Sol 4958-4968 PanCam

In this close-in Oppy pancam shot from Nev-T’s gigapan, a small but uniform object nestles between two medium-sized boulders.
Coming in for a closer look, our Detail 1 of 2 view shows bilateral symmetry with both a large and a small bearing-like extension on the closer end.
Going to hyper-zoom, it’s clear that this is a device of some sort, possibly a relic of a vanished civilization. Small extensions from the lower side are now easier to see. There is even some reflectivity on the “bearings” which may indicate metallic construction.
Just a rock? Please clear up the bilateral symmetry for me, along with the “bearings” and other features. Best way to do that is show me a clear Terran analog.
I’m waiting…
“SO, HOW DO I VIEW X3D STEREO?”
Simple! While viewing the stereo pair at a comfortable distance, gently cross your eyes (no eye-strain) until you perceive three images all the same width. The one in the center is in 3D. Just relax into it and your eyes will automatically bring it into focus. Once you have it, you will never forget how to do it. Kinda like riding a bicycle…
