Today’s Context View shows another debris-laden hillside from Curiosity’s earlier travels. An unusually-regular shape in the lower left demands closer examination.
The Detail View reveals a flawless-symmetrical bar perhaps six feet long. Its curved top and bottom mirror each other perfectly and overall, it reminds one of a semi-circular file many of us have in our workshops.
What in the world is this thing? The fact that it’s sitting atop the sand and shows no sand or other debris on its surface leads one to surmise it might be a flying vehicle of some sort. I’m more inclined to think, however, that given the proximity of at least two other anomalies that it belongs to a grouping that is possibly industrial in nature.
Once your eyes adjust to the exposure, take a look at the two locator dots. Just in back of the bar is a square item featuring a beveled edge on its front and a cylindrical slice of metal(?) on top in the center.
Now take a look at the rearmost item. It’s not much to look at, kind of conical in shape, but look carefully at the right end: it has a circular opening with a knob in the center!
When you find three anomalous items in one frame, the laws of chance pretty much dictate that there’s more going on here than “just rocks”.
Worth going over for a closer look? Not if you’re from NASA!

“SO, HOW DO I VIEW X3D STEREO?”
Simple! While viewing the stereo pair at a comfortable distance, gently cross your eyes (no eye-strain) until you perceive three images all the same width. The one in the center is in 3D. Just relax into it and your eyes will automatically bring it into focus. Once you have it, you will never forget how to do it. Kinda like riding a bicycle…
