After seeing this going viral around the internet I did about five minutes of research and found that this is not what it seems to be. Immediately I could tell that the NAVCam had blackened out a rock that had its shadow pointing directly at the rover. There is another shadow just like it on the top right of the original picture but that was not mentioned in the videos and articles going around the internet. This is one of those times that an anomaly can easily be explained as the result of light and shadows tricks. Please take a look at the video and then if you are still convinced that the rock is floating, download the images for yourself so you can trace the shadow back to the rock.

Description:
I hate to make debunking videos and I do not plan on doing this often. I promise! Just the last couple weeks a lot of the "bunk" anomalies that are easily debunked have been getting a lot of sharing time. I want the viewers here at WhatsUpInTheSky to be informed with the best information possible. I don't want you to be in a conversation and bring something up with a skeptic that can easily be proven wrong. I have had to debunk a bunch of my videos as well over the couple years. This one was pretty easy. I just looked at the day before the supposed picture was taken and found a picture of the area with the MASTCAM and my suspicions were correct. It was another rock that was making the shadow. Much love to you all!
