I suspect most people when they think of a physical cross also think in terms of the religion Christianity perhaps because that is a faith they were born into and/or choose to live by here on Earth. The cross with the body of Jesus crucified on it is the iconic representation of the Crucifixion and Christianity.

Since Christianity is one of the great religions here on Earth with many millions under it banner, it comes as no surprise to see one of its most famous icons appearing in places of importance here on Earth. However, what about appearing on a distant planet like Mars? Would you be surprised to see it there? Well look at the following brought to my attention by Mark Sappa aka Truthseeker back in March. As you can see above, I've included a lot of increasingly closer and closer views up to a maximum zoom factor of 500%. Beyond that, in my opinion, blur starts becoming too much of a factor. So why stress so many views? For one thing because I know from experience religion and passion prone subject matters tend to go hand in hand and I suspect some can really get fired up over it. Also there are many suspicious objects around in the terrain nearby this cross and I want viewers to be able to have at least a decent look at the context terrain this object sits in.

Please note that this object is obviously meant to be seen sticking upright the way it does and the resolution made available in the original data allows closer examination but also that its size is not meant to dominate the scene. If it is a cross and meant to represent a religious object as so often here on Mars, that suggests the probability that the religion also does not dominate and that who ever put it there is trying to show respect but not to offend someone.

However, take a closer look in the 5th image at the base area of the cross. Note that what one may have assumed to be a rock at the base of the cross in more distant views is actually something smudged out and, except for general outline, it has no detail to it at all, just smudge. In other words, this area at the cross base looks suspiciously like some selective image tampering hiding something and yet not hiding the cross itself. I find that strange but important.

Also, note that the cross sits on top of a partially buried but also partially exposed elevated flat top formation pointed out by the blue arrow in image #2 that more exposed view in turn sits facing in the opposite direction on the edge of a depression of some kind that has served to partially expose it. Are we looking at an old mausoleum or bunker uncovered by what ever created the ground depression on the opposite side of it? One thing is for sure, crosses do not exist naturally in nature and are normally constructs by someone with a culture. The smudge image tampering hiding something at the base of the cross but not hiding the cross itself suggests that someone of our time frame actually wants us to see this cross. But, if so, why?

There is another possibility even if a bit remote. Might this really not be a single object but the darker shadow side of two separate objects that just happen to super impose and cross each other at this particular viewing angle and thereby not be a true cross and have a more natural origin explanation? Yet, if we are to consider that, why would someone feel the need to hide some specific object at the base of the cross with a smudge image tampering application if every thing here is of natural origin?

Then there are other issues to consider. Here on Earth crucifixion on the cross along with the process of impalement culturally existed for hundreds of years before and after Christ. The process was to maximize human suffering and undermine dignity not only of the victim proceeding death but also a gruesome message for anyone associated with the victim as well as even passing strangers. Countless thousands met their end via this barbarous process over the centuries. The Romans in particular employed it many thousands of times for many generations before and after Christ in an attempt to control populations via fear.

It is unquestionably one of the most horrendous horrors that humans can inflict on each other marking both the victim and the perpetrator almost equally as lower than low and which can never be turned away from or washed away from the soul. Yet one special human's passing on the cross redeems this bloody icon transmuting it with this one event into something that stands for good in the perception of many millions down through time and for centuries to come.

If this cross in the Curiosity imaging is for real and this physical cross does actually exist on Mars, then at the very minimum it is a construct created by an intelligent culture with all the implications that go with that. Worse, someone is hiding this reality from us while planning manned colonization missions to the place ignoring the rights of those with prior rights. Do you want to be part of this brand of "Manifest Destiny" behavior?

NASA Photograph Reveals Religious Symbol on Mars

A man says he is sure that a structure appearing in a recently released picture by NASA is actually a wooden cross.

The youtube user, who goes by the nickname Truthseeker, discovered the anomaly Saturday and created a video explaining why he believes this is not a spontaneous natural formation on the surface of the red planet.

“I am dumbfounded, there’s not much to say,” he says. “There’s another cross, I mean, come on, that’s just clear…everybody can see that, you don’t even have to do any editing or nothing.”

The finder assumes the structure on the picture is “going down to something” and that you can “definitely see the wood behind it” with a “piece in front of it.”

He then points out a rock located on the right of the alleged cross, which he believes has an artificial carving on it.

“Then this here looks like there is a table, with a chair here,” he explains while aiming the mouse pointer at a pair of rocks on the right side of the screen, possibly inferring it could be part of a religious ceremonial structure.

According to the author of the video, the anomaly could be a tombstone. The man claims this is not the first cross he has spotted on pictures of Mars released by NASA.

“Everything is just very odd in this picture, look at this, looks like another cross, and this looks like some type of machinery with an arm coming out. It is beautiful, I’d love to see what the unedited pictures would look like, but I guess this is the best we are gonna get right now. If not human being, alien is supposed to be in Mars…how can nature build something like this?” he said.

He admits he still has to do more research about the picture and he praises the people out there doing such a good job in finding new anomalies.

Theories dealing with the possibility of past life in Mars are abundant among UFO researchers. Secret Space Program researcher Mike Bara wrote a book on the subject in 2013, showing some of the most recent findings regarding anomalies and odd structures on the planet’s surface.

Assuming that this is the work of an ancient civilization, the question perhaps should be: could a wooden structure survive Mars atmosphere for such a long period of time? Or is this actually the work of an alien life form currently living there?

The Curiosity rover, which has been exploring the Red Planet for almost two years, never ceases to amaze us with unique and extraordinary pictures. In the last batch, those searching for extraterrestrial civilization have found what appears to be a tomb topped with a cross.

According to one Internet user, nicknamed Truthseeker, who has not only examined the photos thoroughly but also made a video, the religious symbol on the surface of Mars is nothing other than a wooden cross and the small plate beneath it looks like a headstone.

"I am dumbfounded, there's not much to say," Truthseeker says. "There's another cross, I mean, come on, that's just clear…everybody can see that, you don't even have to do any editing or nothing."

"It looks like a plate on a grave. This is not the first cross, which you can see on the photos from Mars, published by NASA," cryptozoologynews.com quotes the network user.

Earlier this year, in April, another photo sent by Curiosity caught imagination of the internet community. It clearly showed a beam of light emanating from the Red Planet's horizon which led many to claim that proves the existence of life on Mars.

"This is not a glare from the sun, nor is it an artifact of the photo process," claimed the image's discoverer, Scott Waring of UFO Sightings Daily.

"Look closely at the bottom of the light," Waring wrote. "It has a very flat surface giving us 100% indiction [sic] it is from the surface. Sure NASA could go and investigate it, but hey, they are not on Mars to discovery life, but there to stall its discovery."

NASA explained that the images of bright spots taken on April 2 and April 3 are likely to be a product of the sun's glare or cosmic rays. It insisted that similar glints of light are seen all the time in images taken by the Curiosity rover.

"In the thousands of images we've received from Curiosity, we see ones with bright spots nearly every week," said Justin Maki of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. "These can be caused by cosmic-ray hits or sunlight glinting from rock surfaces, as the most likely explanations," he added.

A observant truthseeker has put out a video giving the viewers a closer look at the Cross.

He has found a cross which appears to be either a territory marker or what we use as grave markers. Other objects on the video are interesting. It seems a structure is possible. The Ancient Egyptians used the cross as a sacred symbol for the ankh. The cross has been a sacred symbol since ancient times. Its fascinating to see the coincidence of a cross marker in the Mars Photo by Rover.. I hope we get a closer look by Rover because the area is very interesting.

Crosses are used for markers and  symbol used by Ancient  Egyptians. 

Ancient civilizations used menhirs as sacred markers. Stonehenge and New Grange were constructed and marked  as sacred spots.

Isis carried the ankh which was the symbol for eternal life for the Ancient Egyptians. Many have thought that the possibility of Ancient Egypt was constructed with the aid of technology from a lost civilization. It would be truly amazing link of a cross on Mars and the ankh cross of Egypt. Is it just a bunch of rocks on Mars or is it a cross? I hope Rover gets a closer look.
