question-circle Ancient Martian Ruins in East Hellas Planitia?

8 years 10 months ago #3490 by Todd
This is from HiRISE image ESP_019013_1370, taken of terrain in East Hellas Planitia. Areas of slightly sunken elevation seem to reveal groups of unique structures which strongly resemble an ancient city, complete with pathways, walls, and linear structures. The permafrost on some of them actually seem to highlight the structural features. Based on the projected scale, the feature is approximately 0.8km across. I highly recommend viewing the full size original image if you are able to, it's quite something to see. ;)

Thanks. I downloaded these too.

Are these ruins? I am operating from the hypothesis that the entire surface of Mars, and likely down to some depth, has be engineered in some form or another. Couple this hypothesis with the theory that the entire planet has been ruined and that implies these are ruins.

Ruined what though? I don't know, but I will let you know if I arrive at an opinion.

I have no unified theory, yet anyway, just puzzle pieces and I think some them actually fit together. :)

Thank you to everyone who has stuck by the YouTube channel and to all of our admins and forum users here on the channel.   They really have kept the website current while I have been busy taking care of things in my personal life.   I promised that the next video would be a long one and have a LOT to look at.  You can get lost in these Gigapans and I really hope that you do!  I spent a lot of time stitching these together and making sure that they were the best quality that I could get them.  SOL 1448 really has been a goldmine for anomaly hunters and those people who are just hobbiest.  I really hope you enjoy this one and expect much more to come from the latest batches of images!
