HiRISE image ESP_016690_1380 shows the basin South of Sirenum Fossae which is littered with what appear to be constructed mounds and structures resembling crumbling buildings.

Below, an enlarged crop from the image above.

So far, I have found 4 HiRISE images of this basin, here are the additional links.

Interesting. I downloaded these, and their referenced pics too. Thanks.

I agree with your analysis.

I am in the process of learning my way around the surface of Mars and pictures like these are helping me considerably.

BTW: Is that object the last image is centered on yet another "Face on Mars?"

It does seem like there might be a running theme down there as a lot of those mounds do seem to be looking back.

I am guessing that this face is just a trick of light and shadow. However, i just had to mention it.

This is also in the same basin, this time from ESP_017112_1370 . This was pretty dark in the original. I lightened it but the visible camera streaks in the shadows are slightly visible. Still, I thought it was worth presenting here.

Here are some more enlargments from HiRISE ESP_016690_1380 , taken of the strange mounds in the basin near Sirenum Fossae. This time the images were processed from the PDS raw .img files and assembled. These are non-map projected versions.
