Outstanding Will, really! :woohoo: Another thing not talked about too frequently is some of the really dark features imaged back by the MGS, I'll have to search for an example because it's been about 10 yrs. since I've seen them, but they really look like an up-welling of decayed organic material similar to tar or oil. That would also explain some of the unusual methane readings they occasionally find.

Slightly off topic, but here is one example of what I'm referring to. This is a Mars Global Surveyor image taken by the MOC of Argyre Planitia, within the Argyre basin, the lowest elevation on Mars. ;) Notice the dark material appears to sit within the lowest elevation present on the image. Of course it's just an outside possibility, but I think that we could be seeing some kind of bituminous sands deposit.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck by the YouTube channel and to all of our admins and forum users here on the channel.   They really have kept the website current while I have been busy taking care of things in my personal life.   I promised that the next video would be a long one and have a LOT to look at.  You can get lost in these Gigapans and I really hope that you do!  I spent a lot of time stitching these together and making sure that they were the best quality that I could get them.  SOL 1448 really has been a goldmine for anomaly hunters and those people who are just hobbiest.  I really hope you enjoy this one and expect much more to come from the latest batches of images!
