Curiosity Sol 855 Mastcam Image was created by Todd
Part of what I find strange about the "mineral vein" is not only the sheer volume of it, but how much appears to be accumulated as various shapes on the surface. An example would be the raw images I posted from sol 924 . Marlena brought this section of a right mastcam image taken on sol 855 to my attention and will likely have further comment on it. It too has a large surface accumulation of the mineral vein material. Sometimes the vein looks like a mineral vein, sometimes it looks like some kind of ancient integrated tech and sometimes it looks like a melted down collection of artifacts, like it does here. The image below was processed from the PDS raw DRCL .img file.

If that ankh like marking in the middle of this image is not an artefact and has only natural causes then I'd lean towards accepting everything we have seen as having a natural cause. I made the image below as a composite of Sol 855 and Sol 844 to see if I could tease out more detail. I used 855 as the base and fitted a transparent version of 844 over it. It took some tweaking and manipulation, I also used the 8 bit versions. The exercise has not been an overwhelming success. I am also having problems with sizing when I upload.

This was a short video I made a while back.

Haymaker, I found your original thread.

The formation and surrounding area is really one of a kind, at least so far. As amazing as the "Murray Buttes" have been, they look nothing like this formation.

Also from 855. I used the 8 bit image tidied it up and played with it. I really think this looks interesting.

Here is the Sol 844 right mastcam image taken of the same scene. I think the image is pretty close to the composition of the sol 855 image but the exposure is a little better. The image below was processed from the PDS raw DRCL .img file.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck by the YouTube channel and to all of our admins and forum users here on the channel.   They really have kept the website current while I have been busy taking care of things in my personal life.   I promised that the next video would be a long one and have a LOT to look at.  You can get lost in these Gigapans and I really hope that you do!  I spent a lot of time stitching these together and making sure that they were the best quality that I could get them.  SOL 1448 really has been a goldmine for anomaly hunters and those people who are just hobbiest.  I really hope you enjoy this one and expect much more to come from the latest batches of images!
