check Curiosity Sol 944 & 950 Composites: "Telegraph Peak"

7 years 10 months ago - 7 years 10 months ago #7853 by Todd
These are two composites made from left Mastcam images taken on sol 944 & 950 in the "Pahrump Hills." The subject of each series of Mastcam images is a hill named "Telegraph Peak." On top of that hill are some unique samples that are somewhat consistent in shape and size, resembling fossilized constructions. Below, a series of images taken on sol 944 from site 45/0996 . All the images were processed from the PDS raw DRCL .img files.

On sol 949, the rover moves to site 45/1276 and takes a series of Mastcam images on sol 950 of the same hill from a different vantage point.

Enlarged section from sol 950 below.

Nice job on the composite. I had posted an anomaly from sol 949 last year & haven't found it yet on your new image. yours is so clear that what I thought I saw was maybe just a rock.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck by the YouTube channel and to all of our admins and forum users here on the channel.   They really have kept the website current while I have been busy taking care of things in my personal life.   I promised that the next video would be a long one and have a LOT to look at.  You can get lost in these Gigapans and I really hope that you do!  I spent a lot of time stitching these together and making sure that they were the best quality that I could get them.  SOL 1448 really has been a goldmine for anomaly hunters and those people who are just hobbiest.  I really hope you enjoy this one and expect much more to come from the latest batches of images!
