this is an old one from SOL 526 & I am reposting for the newer people. I see it and I hope you do also. if you look close the oval tag has two rolled over ears with a pin; kinda like a watch band. I just don't believe nature did this, do you ?

I can see the shape you're talking about, I think ... looks like a clothespin, somewhat.
But how do you conclude that it's metal and not just a shape in the rock? I'm not trying to be argumentative, but am looking for information. A couple of days ago you referenced a "brass lifing ring" ... wondering how you determined that it's brass.

Good questions! i'm glad when others look & think about the details. the wedge block with the brass hoop first. when I am scanning the images I am at 400% (4x) size & I thought I saw a slight gold shade to this object. with the odd shape & the smooth finish I assumed it was a cast metal part. the tag's ears & pin area appears smooth but it also looks like it has been bent or damaged. I guess this led me to assume it was metal since rock does not bend but breaks. everything is covered with dust so we are just guessing about these things & that is exactly why I sometimes say nothing about the anomaly. thanks for your interest!
