Hey Aubrey

Sorry if that post came across as patronising in any way, I too am wet round the ears - the "Newbie" so to say, Mars generally interested me, but no more than a few other subjects - until this summer, when my interest kinda exploded - images from curiosity certainly made me curious , that's for sure. I started firstly by looking, spotting the odd thing here and there - geometric shapes and unnatural looking formations and objects... Fed up of crap Resolution images I started looking at the raw pds side of it, and thanks to Todd here we are a few months later producing images for the whole community to benefit from (hopefully lol)
Todd's a super brain, there seems to be nothing he doesn't have a good base understanding of, and links to research and info too boot! Top guy, down to the point, no waffle (unlike myself!)

Your right about the impression / indentation on the right - it's odd... my tablet isn't great but I'll definitely look a bit more tomorrow ....
As for my opinion, it is purely speculation based on limited knowledge and limited skills..... My "bone up on" list is huge! And expanding exponentially it seems! Lol

Welcome aboard bud

Enjoy

RocketDawg.....do I detect a hint of sarcasm there my good man! he he he bloody carved looking pyramid things there just "volcanic dribbling" or some other made crap NASA love to spout.... Move along .... Nothing to see here....

Unfortunatly, size is difficult to determine because both Mastcams have zoom focus capabilities and the distance of the target object from the rover is unknown. Emily Lakdawalla from the Planetary Society has a good post up about scale.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck by the YouTube channel and to all of our admins and forum users here on the channel.   They really have kept the website current while I have been busy taking care of things in my personal life.   I promised that the next video would be a long one and have a LOT to look at.  You can get lost in these Gigapans and I really hope that you do!  I spent a lot of time stitching these together and making sure that they were the best quality that I could get them.  SOL 1448 really has been a goldmine for anomaly hunters and those people who are just hobbiest.  I really hope you enjoy this one and expect much more to come from the latest batches of images!
