I wish I could say this object is an anomaly but I can't. I was going to call it a Martian golf ball. this is an example of how we get fooled sometimes. if this sphere were laying out on bare sand , then I would call it an anomaly without hesitation. in this case there are many other pieces & shards that display similar formation grooves nearby. just goes to show that nature can do amazing things!  Sorry for the late reply....

My cobbled together "Franken-Puter" Decided to corrupt the Boot MGR on my C drive... After much ado... It's alive, using another HDD... but... I lost Sol 844 I had just completed.... And another 26gb of images and downloads...

Wondershare Media recovery to the rescue.... I may get some data back... Who knows

So without further ado,

wow, your gigapan is just awesome. it makes every rock look interesting! as far as the spout, i'm afraid we may be seeing the edge of a flat projection and the lighting is throwing us off. did you see the flat rock with a comma shape groove? I have just signed up to gigapan so I can take snapshots of you image. thanks

Yeah, it does give the illusion of flowing water, but unless there's a drain at the bottom, there would be standing wate or icer all around. Plus ... it's cold there .... I suppose some areas get a little damp in the sun on "warm" days but I doubt warm enough to support flowing water.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck by the YouTube channel and to all of our admins and forum users here on the channel.   They really have kept the website current while I have been busy taking care of things in my personal life.   I promised that the next video would be a long one and have a LOT to look at.  You can get lost in these Gigapans and I really hope that you do!  I spent a lot of time stitching these together and making sure that they were the best quality that I could get them.  SOL 1448 really has been a goldmine for anomaly hunters and those people who are just hobbiest.  I really hope you enjoy this one and expect much more to come from the latest batches of images!
