Something odd just happened, so maybe one of the moderators can help me understand. I get emails when "subscribed" threads have a new post, and I assume it was this post since it mentioned Chris.

It was from Todd, and here is the content: "Sometimes I agree with Chris, sometimes I think he stretches the image limitations too far and I think this is an example of the latter. In this case he's using the NASA jpg image, which is smaller and loaded with jpg artifacts, not great for deciphering image details this small. In the NASA/JSC/ASU raw tif scan it looks a little less impressive. It could be part of a footprint, the astronauts were hanging out around that area, although I don't see any other prints there. Personally, I think it's more of an image based illusion and not a glyph."

In the email, there is a link to the post but when I click the link, I get a "permission denied", that I don't have permission to view the post. And yes, I checked to make sure that I was signed in.

Anyway, I agree with Todd. I don't think it's a footprint though since there are no prints leading up to the "object". And lots of things can appear when PhotoShop enhances images. However, someone took the picture, and must have been standing off the rover, which was off to the left or the right, since the tire tracks are clearly visible.

Anyway, anybody know what the "permission denied" message is all about? Thanks.
