BOX & BLOX” - in X3D Stereo

This beautiful PDS gigapan by Nev-T is just chock full of anomalies! One could easily spend many hours cataloging all of them, but for our purposes we will concentrate on just a few of the more interesting items.

Today’s context view is loaded with non-fractal anomalies that just jump off the screen, not the least of which is that flawlessly-rectangular piece on the lower left and the impeccable building blocks at the top. Let’s move in for a closer look.

Detail View #1 shows what almost looks like a computer display with its dark inner surface and its perfectly-even shell. Logically that’s not at all likely to be the case. A PC would soon revert to dust in the wind-driven sand of the Martian environment. Whatever it is however, it was clearly manufactured. Note also the polyhedral block in front of it and the many smaller structural blocks throughout the frame.

Moving to Detail View #2 we find a panoply of structural blocks scattered about. Right angles abound. And take a good look at the bluish stone just right of center at the bottom. There’s no question that it has ornamental carving on its visible surface along with its right angles.

The massive destruction that overtook Martian civilization left no stone upon another for the most part. We do find the occasional wall and of course, pyramids by the score. But when you consider the massive weight of most of the building components we find, it’s clear that overwhelming hydrologic forces were in play as oceans sloshed about before boiling off into the stripped atmosphere. According to Dr. John Brandenburg, this all came about as a result of a nuclear attack, the size of which is almost beyond comprehension.

SO, HOW DO I VIEW X3D STEREO?”

Simple! While viewing the stereo pair at a comfortable distance, gently cross your eyes (no eye-strain) until you perceive three images all the same width. The one in the center is in 3D. Just relax into it and your eyes will automatically bring it into focus. Once you have it, you will never forget how to do it. Kinda like riding a bicycle…

In Nev-T’s anomaly-rich PDS of sol 434, we’ve selected a portion for today’s context view that has something interesting in the lower left corner.

Going to the detail view, we find what looks like a spent shell or warhead lying in the sand. The clear segments of the nose section on the left are not the result of a photographic artifact, but actually part of whatever it is. The overall cylindrical shape and the presence of what may be worn off stabilization fins seem quite a stretch for this to be a natural object.

Is it actually ordnance? Probably not. We can only assign analogs from our earthly experience. Yet the nagging imperative remains: the mathematical dictates of design engineering mean that regardless of the originating intelligence, certain goals and solutions will inevitably manifest the same way.

We can shout “Pareidolia!” all we want. That doesn’t change the math.

"SHREDDED METAL" in X3D Stereo

SHREDDED METAL” - in X3D Stereo

This is a relatively complex find requiring multiple views in order to include everything.

Let’s get started.

Context View #1 is an attempt to label some, not all, of the metallic anomalies present in this section of Nev-T’s gigapan. Each of the locator dots draws your attention to something that shouldn’t be there. I feel confident in saying that 95% of everything you see in this image is artificial. Blocks, squares, pins and other less-definable items litter the landscape; this is what happens when some unimaginable force virtually obliterates an industrial area, shredding metal, machines and of course, whatever living beings were present in that fateful moment. The organic remains are long gone, the metal remains.

In Detail View #1 we get a closer look at the main item, the strangely-shaped whatever-it-was in the upper right-hand corner. Moving left and down at an angle we see bent metal and in the lower left corner, a nicely-shaped pin with a radiused end pokes out of the shadow.

In front of these items lie pieces of metal and other strange and unnatural shapes.

In Detail View #2, attention is drawn towards the boxlike item on the right. The symmetrical sides are a giveaway, but also notice the perfectly square plate on the left end with the domed area in the center. Everything else in the photo is anomalous as well.

Moving the camera back a bit in Context View #2, we see the items first presented at the top of the picture. Big chunks of metal dominate the rest of the scene, with special attention reserved for the squarish piece below the banner.

In Detail View #3 we get a closer look at the block. Notice the many blocks and cubes surrounding it, as well as the dull metallic gleam evidenced by most of them. The block itself shows non-fractal lines including right angles, milled surfaces and the hole located in the center.

Speculation wants to envision an industrial plant where large metallic items are manufactured (an automobile plant?). We see what might be bending breaks, shears, forming blocks, drop hammer parts and much more that is consistent with such undisciplined imagination. Once again, NASA bypasses a golden opportunity to determine the nature of these items through closer inspection, through grinding and chemical analysis and so forth.

My suspicion is that they do INDEED carry out such examination, but the results are kept classified, courtesy of our taxpayer dollars…

Today’s context view reveals another pin like the one seen in “Metallic Inclusion”. The clean, shiny cylinder and accompanying debris in front of it are circled on the right side and deserve a closer look.

Zooming in, our detail view shows another worked pin with segmented sections. Around it lies debris, perhaps part of the machine from which it came. Of particular interest is the square plate lying directly in front of it. Look at it! Square shape, rivets, holes, extensions and a tangle of tubing in front. These are rocks? I think not!

These are clearly industrial remains, badly twisted and broken after the global cataclysm that wiped Mars clean like a Sunday school blackboard.

The difference in surrounding geology is clear to see in today’s context view. Over there on the right side, something metal glints in the noonday sun.

Moving in to our detail view, it’s clear to see that the metallic item is manufactured. Perhaps it is an industrial pin turned on a lathe? Or for the more fancifully-inclined, the hilt of a light saber? Regardless, it’s metal, it’s shining in the sun, it has been worked by an intelligent hand or machine and it’s part of but not consistent with the surrounding geology.

Except that’s not accurate, because “geology” would indicate rocks...andI don’t believe that’s what we have here. As you look more closely at the “rocks”, it becomes apparent that they display angles, planes and shapes that more closely resemble industrial parts, aged and corroded. Perhaps the shiny metal part is aluminum or an alloy that resists corrosion, while the bulk of the material is iron or steel?

It’s difficult too imagine how this pin might become wedged in the rocks in the manner we find it. It’s more likely to be a portion of the overall mechanism that simply has not corroded. Similar “pins” have been discovered by other researchers and indeed, there is another one which I will be presenting shortly that bears a very close resemblance to this one.

How can you miss the strange object near the center of today’s context view? Its color, shape and markings stick out like a sore thumb from the surrounding geology.

Gotta get closer.

The detail view reveals something very strange indeed. Tucked under a ledge behind a small hillock, this strange item juts out into the sunlight. Its light color and reflectivity seem to indicate a metallic hull. Longitudinal ribs run the visible length of the object. A neat hole or window sits dead center in the nose. The impression is of a shuttle parked in a protected area, but prepared for quick departure should it become necessary.

I’ve tried to stretch my mind around the possibility that it’s a natural formation but frankly, my imagination doesn’t stretch that far. Metallic albedo, symmetrical geometry and its utter lack of conformity to the surrounding geology dictate intelligent design to my way of thinking.

You wanna say “rock”, that’s up to you…
