MINI-DISC” in X3D Stereo

OK, I’ll admit it: this one bothers me. See, I have an inherent Terran-based size bias that precludes me easily believing in a race of miniature Martians. And yet, I along with other researchers continue to find miniature dwellings, tiny artifacts and morestrangenessthat seem to suggest otherwise.

As you can see, our context view is close to Oppy’s pancam. One of the flags indicating a possible anomaly is a color or albedo that doesn’t match the contextual geology. And that’s certainly the case here, as the small white disc maybe fifteen feet away from Oppy simply doesn’t fit the surrounding geology.

Ok then, let’s have a look.

In our detail view you can easily see the puzzling details. It’s a disc. With a scalloped edge. What’s more, the dome on top (and in the center as we would expect it to be) appears to be translucent, made of plastic, glass or some other material. Within, two “eyes” (stereo cameras? Sensors? Alien heads? Actual eyes?) are clearly seen.

Go ahead. Say it. It’s a miniature flying saucer, right? I really don’t want to believe that, but there it is, defying reason. Do they send Oppy over for a closer look with the chemcam? Of course not. At least not publicly.

Eventually I will collate a 3D collection of miniature anomalies for consideration. That size-bias is really getting whittled away. And it kinda hurts.

SO, HOW DO I VIEW X3D STEREO?”

Simple! While viewing the stereo pair at a comfortable distance, gently cross your eyes (no eye-strain) until you perceive three images all the same width. The one in the center is in 3D. Just relax into it and your eyes will automatically bring it into focus. Once you have it, you will never forget how to do it. Kinda like riding a bicycle…

PHANTOM TEMPLE” - in X3D Stereo

As we continue our examination of Neville Thompson’s 4823 gigapan, our eyes are inexorably-drawn to strange shapes tangled together in the center of our context view. They could be up to 100 yards away. Curves, spikes and a long triangular piece that might be a lintel demand a closer look.

Zooming in, our detail view reveals a strange sight indeed! That screaming white face in the lower left corner; is that pareidolia or is it something more? A temple adornment? Various curved architectural elements lie on different plains and at jagged angles, circles and spikes everywhere. Above, the broken lintel gives an almost unavoidable impression of a temple in ruins, crushed and battered by the immense global cataclysm that engulfed Mars one fateful day.

Forget about the machine remnants, the roads, the pyramids, the walls, the gridworks of streets and buildings visible from the orbiters, the utensils, the pottery, the seashells and so much more. At this point, if one only takes into consideration the apparent ruins of buildings found everywhere by NASA’s cameras, it is a simply inescapable fact that an ancient series of civilizations once covered the surface of Mars.

I am personally convinced that the eventual acceptance and explorations of these ruins will reveal not some alien culture, but our very own ancient heritage.

CLEAT” in X3D Stereo

Neville Thompson’s splendid collection of gigapans will remain a source of inspiration for anomalists for generations to come. This one from Oppy’s sol 4823 is absolutely jammed with fascinating anomalies to keep any hunter busy for hours. We chose two to concentrate upon, “Cleat” and “Phantom Temple”.

Just looking at the context view, most people can easily see all kinds of oddities that appear to be anything but natural. Our subject lies dead center at the bottom. Appearing as large as it does, it could easily be fifteen to twenty feet across and displays uniform characteristics that point to its unnatural origin.

Zooming in, our detail view reveals some very strange features. Its uniform width, curvature, overall shape, central hole and various appendages seem to indicate a manufactured item vaguely resembling a cleat used in tying up a ship. As large as it is however, it must have had some other function, perhaps industrial in nature.

Rather than trying to describe what I see, why not spend a few moments letting your eyes relax into the 3D image and explore this thing from end to end?

In collaboration with Researcher Emeritus Martine Grainey, MarsX3D is proud to offer a series of 3D realizations representing some of Ms. Grainey’s most compelling finds. These are her original renditions. Nothing has been changed, altered or added in any way other than to apply the process of planar extrapolation and then rendering the image in X3D stereo.

Clearly not natural, this large “T-in-a-box” object was immediately pounced upon by anomaly hunters. Given its right angles and other non-fractal attributes, it is likely an industrial relic.

But when Martine adjusted the contrast a bit, suddenly a fascinating inscription popped out from the cliff face. The regular symbols simply cannot be anything other than writing. Was it perhaps carved in back of the heavy artifact as a testament to a lost civilization? Was it the hand of a lone survivor wishing to leave a record of what the object is? Speculation is as usual, fascinating but essentially pointless.

It is what it is. Not natural.

PYRAMID COMPLEX” - Curiosity Sol 1281 NavCam

Anomaly hunters have learned that NASA/JPL will often overlook anomalies on the horizon. We therefore take our time to examine the “far reaches” of an image for items that escape detection by their AI software and human operator intervention.

Such is the case in this particular image. Some two miles (estimated) from the rover’s navigation cameras, pyramidal shapes catch the eye in our first view. Zooming in, our second view reveals what appears to be a pyramid complex showing at least three distinct pyramids.

As we go to hyper zoom, we can clearly see walls forming right angles and archways on the lower level of the pyramid on the right. These are not “just rocks”, folks. If you thought you were viewing an image taken on earth, you would immediately identify it for what it is: a pyramid complex with walls and apparent doorways.

It’s just possible that NASA/JPL is purposely allowing more non-fractal items to slip through their obfuscation gauntlet as part of their so-called “soft disclosure” efforts. Whatever the case, more and more anomalies are right there in front of our eyes for those who will take the time to look!

When viewing the contextual geology in the original mastcam image, it seems possible that the “Buckled Bag” could be no more than a fascinating relic of wind and sand.

But take a closer look.

There’s that perfectly-shaped strap on top with a perfectly semi-circular end and a buckle or hasp dead-center right where it should be. Look at the thin, evenly-spaced laminations; the criss-crossing marks on the surface. The overall aspect is that of a buckled bag or a book which has perhaps become a mud fossil.

But wait (as they say), there’s more.

Look in the upper left corner as indicated by the arrow. Now I don’t know about you, but that sure looks like a half-buried skull to me! What are the chances of the domed head, the eye sockets and nose socket being eroded in just the right positions on a rock?

Skeptics will bend over backwards to deny its biological origin. Or you could just apply Occam’s Razor.
