But I'm really looking forward to any "Hubble Deep Field" stuff you might be planning....

I'll post a very tentative "eventually." I do know how to use the FITS Liberator, it's loads of fun.:(

The color on the 1850 Mastcams is very weird, some bleeding going on with the red and green filters or something. I made it look as neutral as possible through all the noise. Glitch, maybe you can do something with that mess. I have no reason to ever re-do them, that will likely be my final attempt.  The 1852 composite looks cool though. B)

I'll give it a whirl... I think you might have more faith than me though!  I'll download the Pds files in a min.

Here's a Gigapan I can hand on heart say, I put a lot of effort into this evening... I think perhaps it's my best work yet...

Don't know if it's your "best ever" or not, but it's really good and intriguing. On the second one from the top, the one with 4 inages ... not zooming all the way in, what do you suppose caused the channel from upper left to lower right? Looks to me like water flowed through there just yesterday, but it was no doubt thousands, even millions, of years ago.

Good question RD, It's almost like you say "as if water flowed down yesterday" the sedimentary layers to the right suggest a lengthy period - but the sagging "damp" sand / dust / soil in the bottom image of the same mosaic (Middle image) would suggest a lot more recent activity - I really wouldn't want to hazard a guess.. :cheer:

Well I thought I'd practice on the sol 1852 mosaic - I'll get back with the Sol 1850 link later today - If I'm ever at a point of being marginally happy with it lol

Sol 1852 @ 350%

Thank you to everyone who has stuck by the YouTube channel and to all of our admins and forum users here on the channel.   They really have kept the website current while I have been busy taking care of things in my personal life.   I promised that the next video would be a long one and have a LOT to look at.  You can get lost in these Gigapans and I really hope that you do!  I spent a lot of time stitching these together and making sure that they were the best quality that I could get them.  SOL 1448 really has been a goldmine for anomaly hunters and those people who are just hobbiest.  I really hope you enjoy this one and expect much more to come from the latest batches of images!
